Yaowarat Road | Chinatown in Bangkok 2021.02.13

Today is the second day of the Year of Ox! 🙂 I walked through Yaowarat Road. I took photo here and want to share it! 🙂 People are still celebrating the new year here and were wearing red and traditional clothes.

Yaowarat Road is the main artery of Bangkok’s Chinatown.

The Chinese came here after Rama I moved the capital of the Kingdom of Thailand.

The Chinese settled down on the river bank so they easily could operate trades between Bangkok and China.

In 1891, King Rama V ordered the construction of many big roads in Bangkok, including Yaowarat Road which makes the “main artery” of today’s Chinatown.

Coffee with Ice cream 🙂

Last Lunar new year also visited here. At that time covid 19 just came to Bangkok. I made a video of last year’s lunar new year Parade. You can watch below. This year no Parade. 😦

Hope you like my post. Let me know if you have any questions or comments.

Stay safe and take care!
