I traveled to Beijing city in August 2019. Today I would like to share pictures of 798 Art Zone and some information. This place becomes the new regional mark of Beijing city.
798 Art Zone is located in the Dashanzi area, to the northeast of central Beijing.
Originally 798 Art Zone’s building complex designed by East Germany and built by the Soviet Union in the 1950s. It used to be Factory 798.
It is now a thriving contemporary and modern art space. Galleries, design studios, art exhibition spaces, artists’ studios, fashionable shops, restaurants, bars, etc. now assemble here.
798 Art Zone was founded by Huang Rui in 2003, with an area of more than 1200 square meters. Now is has almost 200 hundred galleries, exhibitions and art centres across the 600,000 metres squared area.
